About this artwork
My alcohol ink works emerge from the tension between control and letting go. The process is only partially controllable. Pigments flow, combine, and develop structures that cannot be fully planned. For me, this is precisely the essence of these works: trusting the process and allowing space for what wants to emerge.
This three-part work consists of three narrow formats, each measuring 20 x 40 cm, which unfold their full effect when placed some… distance apart.
The soft color gradients are reminiscent of a bright, sun-drenched beach, of light blue water gliding gently over warm sand.
A calm, flowing space is created between the individual elements, radiating lightness and spaciousness.
The work invites the viewer to let their gaze wander and to immerse themselves for a moment in this quiet, warm seascape.
