About this artwork
It was through directors like De Sica, Visconti, Truffaut, and Vadim, among others, that the first women I loved came into my life. This Platonic exercise of embracing inaccessible beauty through the screen allowed me to discover Brigitte Bardot in "And God Created Woman" and Claudia Cardinale in "The Leopard." Truffaut brought Jacqueline Bisset in "La Nuit Amerièche" and Catherine Deneuve in "The Mississippi Mermaid."
“Boccaccio 70” was the gateway… to Sophia Loren directed by De Sica, to Romy Schneider seen through the eyes of Visconti, and finally to Anita Ekberg taken to the level of obsession with Fellini.
They were the ones who, among others, shaped my perception of feminine beauty.
