About this artwork
I proposed a natural Eve, far from any hieratic figure capable of transmitting an intimate event such as the discovery of her sexuality through an apple given to her by a snake that, without deception, suggests she discover an indivisible part of the human condition.
My Donna Goriziana is not guilty, she should not be stigmatized as an accomplice of evil, but rather the victim of a fatal design from which she could not escape.
Compositionally,… Eve and the Serpent develop a sensual choreography without descending into explicit nudity, where the tree has been suppressed in favor of the woman's body itself. Likewise, the very muted palette, in shades of gray shaded by a subtle green, is only altered by the subtle red of the apple.
