About this artwork
This painting depicts the tension between two worlds: that of peace and tenderness – the mother and child asleep in the garden – and that of the invisible, the disturbing, which prowls in the house.
The work suddenly shifts from dream to nightmare, yet retains a luminous beauty. It speaks of the inner forces that coexist within us, of thoughts that frighten us, that drive us to hide, to seek light in the darkness.
The moon is no longer where it… should be. It rests beneath the protective tree.
Trained as an architect, I found in painting a refuge and a space for inner freedom. My work is rooted in an introspective and symbolic approach. I paint to give form to what cannot be said or seen: buried emotions, traces of the past, the symbolic images that inhabit memory. Each canvas is for me a space for dialogue between the visible and the invisible, between reality and reverie. Oil painting, with its slowness and depth, allows me the time for these inner visions to emerge. I draw inspiration from the Symbolists and Impressionists, but also from the Surrealist women artists who dared to make their personal lives a territory for poetic exploration. My works borrow from nature, myths, and folklore to evoke universal archetypes—metamorphosis, memory, solitude, and light.
