About this artwork
Thryxom revolves around the idea of a living being that defies human order. Its form is asymmetrical, internally unclear, and not easily decipherable. I am interested precisely in this strangeness: a kind of organism whose structure, function, and inner logic we cannot decipher, and which, precisely because of this, develops its own unique presence.
Despite this ambiguity, the viewer experiences an immediate emotional response. Spherical forms,… pointed elements, fragile surfaces, and heavy bodies that simultaneously appear light and floating create a tension between fragility, irritation, and attraction.
The picture can be hung in different directions, which rearranges its dominance and axes of tension each time. In this way, the work becomes an investigation into non-human vitality, unstable meanings, and the limits of what we believe we understand visually.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Eka Orba is a contemporary artist based in Germany whose work explores the unstable space between organic growth, constructed systems, and contemporary image culture. Working across painting, drawing, objects, and spatial installation, she develops biomorphic abstractions that move between intuition and control, material presence and imagined form.
Originally trained in fine arts in Russia and later awarded a diploma in architecture in Germany, Orba brings together artistic sensibility and spatial thinking in a distinctive hybrid visual language.
Alongside her artistic practice, she works as an educator, offering art courses and workshops in both online and offline formats. She is an active part of the contemporary art scene as a member of BBK Brandenburg and GEDOK. Her work has been presented in institutional and museum contexts, and she has received grant support for her artistic practice.
