About this artwork
The flame of my love for Danielle had not yet died out. Time and again I found myself caught in the shackles of this old love. I felt the urgent need to break free from it, but that was easier said than done. Every attempt to detach myself from the memories and emotions seemed futile. The painting expresses this inner conflict and desire for freedom from the burden of the past. It is a silent testimony to the battle between heart and mind. The background…
is divided into two halves. On the right side, the white-blue and red colors indicate serenity, innocence, renewal and perhaps redemption. The other half is painted with dark blue mixed with light blue, which signifies blind faith and devotion. The essential figure is still embedded in the background. The inside of the head is painted with a mixture of deep purple and dark blue, which means that this head keeps all the secrets.
