About this artwork
In this work, I explore layering as a visual language. Through superimpositions, erasures, and gestural marks, I construct surfaces that retain traces of time and the creative process. I'm interested in the balance between control and spontaneity, between matter and emptiness. I don't seek to represent reality, but to create an open space where each observer can find their own interpretation.

Elena Lemust is an Italian artist who develops abstract research through painting, fabric, and layering materials. Her works emerge from an intuitive process in which gesture, erasure, stitching, and layering construct complex surfaces, revealing the traces of time and transformation.
