part of the "solar stain" exhibition, showed at the Petah Tikva Museum of Art in 2016. from the catalog:" The direction of Bokobza’s current journey, which is based on his personal story and consists of memory fragments and vivid imagination, is reversed to the gaze turning eastward typical of his work heretofore. This time he reverts to observing the capital of European culture where he was born and where he lived until the age of six… and creating… a mental jigsaw puzzle of a place."
in this oil over acrylic on canvas painting, young Eric is depicted alongside his imaginary friends: a super-hero wearing a coffee and chocolate color outfit, representing the patisserie "Eclair" in the boy's hand. "eclair" in french means flashlight. part of the work is painted on "Toile de Jouy" printed fabric. The painting is signed and dated on the back.

« I believe the language of art may have the ability to affect people's convictions. »

Eliahou Eric Bokobza is a painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Israel whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Germany, Ukraine, Italy, and the Netherlands. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as The Jerusalem Post, Haaretz Magazine, etc. Through his "colorfully plump caricatures" and in a calculated childlike style, Bokobza makes critical statements about religion, nationalism, militarism, and many other subjects.
