About this artwork
Tijdens de eerste lockdown, in een tijd van intense eenzaamheid, stroomden berichten op social media binnen. Met dit schilderij verwerk ik die digitale woorden tot beeld: mijn vrouwelijk naakt vervaagt in een bos van abstracte bomen, waarvan de ‘bladeren’ de echo’s zijn van ontvangen teksten. De uiteenlopende toon – van teder en bewonderend tot direct en objectiverend – vormt de kern van het werk. Door deze woorden om te zetten in kunst, geef ik…
een nieuwe stem aan kwetsbaarheid en kracht. Dit stuk is een uitnodiging om de moed te vinden om open te spreken over wat vaak verborgen blijft, en laat zien hoe persoonlijke ervaringen een brug slaan naar een bredere dialoog over intimiteit en zelfbewustzijn.

Her paintings therefore never remain static: they are living surfaces, changing with time, movement, and light.
