About this artwork
Overlaying a carnivalesque fringe of poured enamel, Albert meticulously painted a copy of her own photograph as a way to calm her fury. "It was 2017 and I needed to make something ugly/tawdry; something to punch." Albert rerouted her political rage by painting a clown balloon that one could imagine punching in the nose. "I got a moment's relief and thought the virtual punching might be beneficial to others. "

« Paradoxically, the very nature of these works is entropic, even as they try to capture and order. Everything: paint, fabric, and all materials have a stored energy, an intrinsic vibrancy. »
