About this artwork
She looks at us. She's not looking at a distant future. She looks at the future we're already living. In her hand, she holds a dried plant: dead roots, leaves reduced to dust, a vase that was once full of hope and now contains only scorched earth. It's Palestine without olive trees. It's Ukraine with its wheat fields set ablaze. It's the Horn of Africa where children die of hunger while we scroll through our phones. It's the planet suffocating in… fine dust and demanding back the air we stole from it. It's not a symbol. It's a medical report: the future is already dead. And we continue to carry it around as if it were still alive. This girl's gaze doesn't accuse. It's a statement. She tells us: "This is your legacy. Now it's up to you to decide whether to continue to pretend nothing is happening or finally start digging to bury the old world and plant something new." The future in her hand is not a prophecy. It's a snapshot of today. And tomorrow will depend on who has the courage.
Emanuele Attadia primarily works in painting, enriched by a family background steeped in art and a technical background in environmental engineering, which lends rigor and structure to his compositions. He adopts a figurative style bordering on hyperrealism, imbued with symbolism and poetic tension, where light reveals profound meanings and detail becomes the voice of the soul. His works evoke silence, introspection, and human fragility, inviting the viewer on a contemplative and spiritual journey toward the most authentic part of themselves.
