About this artwork
It's the dead of night, inside a stopped car under an unseen sky.
The warm light illuminates a woman's face, like a small fire that doesn't warm but illuminates. She looks up, toward the roof,
as if there was something bigger than all the darkness around.
The half-open mouth lets out a slow breath,
a sigh that has no words, but that says everything:
tiredness, desire, waiting,
that undefined thing that takes over you when you're alone with… yourself
and the night seems never-ending. The rest is shadow:
hair falling over the back of the chair, tension in the neck, a fleeting caress of light dancing on the skin.
Night Sighs is not a portrait of a girl in a car.
It is the portrait of all of us when, in the deepest silence, we come to terms with ourselves, hoping that someone will hear our sighs.
Emanuele Attadia primarily works in painting, enriched by a family background steeped in art and a technical background in environmental engineering, which lends rigor and structure to his compositions. He adopts a figurative style bordering on hyperrealism, imbued with symbolism and poetic tension, where light reveals profound meanings and detail becomes the voice of the soul. His works evoke silence, introspection, and human fragility, inviting the viewer on a contemplative and spiritual journey toward the most authentic part of themselves.
