About this artwork
I painted Where I Am to explore the feeling of being completely present in a specific place and time. The painting shows a wide, open landscape under a dramatic sky, capturing the quiet strength of the natural world. I used a thick impasto technique with a palette knife to give the ground and the clouds a heavy, physical texture that you can almost feel.
The rich, earthy colors mixed with bright highlights represent the grounding connection we feel… when we stop and look at our surroundings. This work is about finding your footing and embracing your current space. It is a visual celebration of stillness, resilience, and the peaceful moments we find when we simply connect with where we are standing right now.
