About this artwork
Transmutography, another technique I developed, involves digitally transforming the initial images, often photographed by me, to which I then add resin. In this case, the initial image is that of Warhol's "Orangutan," to which I added reworkings of other Warhol works I've photographed in museums and fairs around Europe, adding resin only in a few spots to give the final work a more textured feel. The transmuted works used as backgrounds are always…
masks of transmuted Warhol works, since the Orangutan's face itself resembles a mask, and we often wear one ourselves.

ENRICO TUBERTINI IS A DIGITAL POP ARTIST. BORN IN 1969 IN ITALY, HE HAS BEEN A DIRECTOR OF VIDEOCLIPS AND SHORT FILM FILMS, AND A PHOTOGRAPHER. FROM A CHILD, HE HAS BEEN FASCINATED BY COLOR.
