About this artwork
"Rebirth" represents a woman curled up inside a spherical organic shape. The piece was initially executed in clay before being cast in bronze. Technically it is a complicated piece, and it has been the artist's most challenging bronze so far.
The artist used a blue patina for the woman and the inside and polished the outside smooth surface of the sphere. The blue patina evoking the ocean reinforces the feeling of calm and emerging life he wanted… to convey with this piece.

Eric Saint Georges is an experienced French artist based in the United States whose work has received national exposure. After taking a workshop with the sculptor Petrus in 1978, he was inspired to develop his own artistic practice and pursued studies in sculpture at the Beaux Arts in Paris. Focusing on figurative sculpture and drawing, he is influenced by his own martial arts practice and the energy of the human form.
