About this artwork
The picture is reduced to a symbol-like figure. The idol spreads its circles. It knows how to inspire and capture and at the same time the crack that runs through this figure (the idol) becomes clear and makes it clear that reality makes any form of emotional manipulation in the long term ineffective and destroys it. - A possible interpretation that does not exclude others!
The round variations are created by a special wiping technique that the… artist draws across the surface with different fabrics, sometimes firmly in the colors, sometimes loosely spread over the primer like the "Idol", which reminds us of a knothole in the tree trunk Segments continue outwards, while in the center a view opens up into the depths, in which we might come closer to the spirit of creation or erect a monument to a deity. Ernst-Martin Heel is an artist living in Germany. Over the past decades, he has presented his work to an art-loving public in numerous solo exhibitions and his pieces are included in private collections in the USA, Spain, and Switzerland. His art has been reviewed in various publications and national newspapers such as the WAZ (Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung). His paintings explore fundamental forces of existence in their upheavals, while maintaining an abstract and expressive formal language. However, the inherent chaos finds a rigorous harmony in his art. The principle of "floating" as a fundamental element of life is consistently reflected in his predominantly dynamic paintings.
