About this artwork
The color of the sunset sets aspen trees ablaze in the forest of the Three Sisters wilderness. Aspen groves are speckled across the forests and create striking mini vistas in between the warm tones of dry knotty pines. The texture of the trees catch the light differently, depicted here in the thick strokes of oil paint. The leaves shutter in the wind turning purple, and catch shades of orange and yellow in the sunset.

Eryn Tehan is a young, established artist from Portland, Oregon. Her work has been exhibited at Ford Gallery, Alberta Street Gallery, CHP Galleries, and Red E. Gallery and she has completed projects with Travel Portland, The Oregon Society of Artists, Lakewood Center of the Arts, 510 Museum, The Chelsea Hicks Foundation and the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines. Using only palette knives, Eryn creates her chunky, layered paintings, spotlighting the hidden colors within her floral subjects.
