About this artwork
This object has a surprising effect. Barbie dolls painted anthracite and gold, with short hair and closely connected in a ritual circle. Female power, dark beauties, colorful fabrics.
This circle with the rays pointing outwards is also reminiscent - in a very alienated way - of a holy monstrance as we know it from churches.
The figures are mounted alternately on a round wooden frame, facing both sides.
This object can hang freely in the room so… that it is visible from both sides. But of course it can also be placed on a wall.
This object received much attention in my exhibition MOVING SILENCE 2023 at the MarahArt gallery.

Eva Dahn Rubin is an artist living in Germany and Italy, whose paintings have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
She describes her artistic work as an "emotional and exciting process" that constantly allows her to grow beyond her own concepts.
Through the joyful intensity of their creation, her works become powerful objects. Influenced by music and dance, many of her compositions are characterized by the rhythm and movement of lines, forms, and colors. They inspire viewers to see the hidden and discover the new.
Her multifaceted and vibrant works are created using acrylic, tempera, collage and ink on canvas, paper or found materials.
