About this artwork
I Herbarium no 5 møter vi en stille fusjon mellom menneske og natur – en asiatisk kvinne, delvis skjult, delvis oppløst i et teppe av grønt gress. Ansiktet hennes er ikke fullt synlig, men tilstedeværelsen hennes kjennes – som en åndelig skygge, eller et minne, dypt forankret i landskapet.
Verket er en hyllest til det tause samspillet mellom det ytre og det indre, det synlige og det skjulte. De grønne tonene gir en følelse av fred, men også av noe… organisk og uavklart – som om motivet er i ferd med å viskes ut eller vokse frem, alt etter betrakterens blikk.
