About this artwork
This transmedia work combines photography, painting, and embroidery into a multi-layered, tactile composition. It is based on a photograph taken in Thailand at a temple, at a sacrificial site for a female spirit – a place filled with longing, supplication, and quiet hope.
The image is further developed through embroidery and overpainting: threads and layers of paint act like traces of memory and emotion, golden elements refer to spirituality and… value.
The text “broken dreams, shattered illusions – what stays is a spark of hope” encapsulates the work between transience and hope.
The place appears as a silent witness to lived emotions, as if it absorbs everything that was thought and felt there.
Inspired by Nobuyoshi Araki, the work moves between documentation and interpretation.
Framed original with passe-partout, wooden frame and glass.

With a strong sense of personal freedom, Silberknoll's works exude an inspiring message: be yourself.
