About this artwork
Rome is not only history, architecture, inhabitants. The nature of this city is also breathtaking. The long pine alleys “seduced” me. Tall, towering trunks with branches like crocheted lace at the top, turning into an umbrella full of thick, dark green needles. The hills of Rome on the horizon. Pine trees decorate streets and parks of the city. They are “friends” of cypresses. In the parks, meadows full of grasses, flowers and low shrubs lie below.…
In the foreground of my painting are dynamic, saber-shaped leaves of larger plants. Purple thistles and other small flowers hide in the grass. Clouds and seagulls float gently through the blue Italian sky. A sunlit landscape. Tree trunks covered with a thick texture give them more plasticity. The painting was made in oil technique with small traces of oil pastels.
