About this artwork
Inspired in the action painting "pliages" of Simon Hantai. I created this on a piece of blue denim fabric. The denim fabric was folded, tied, scrunched, then doused with white gesso and then paint added with a roller and a spatula, and unfolded. I used a flexible denim, a porous fabric, instead of a white rigid, untreated canvas Hantai frequently used. That was done to better impress the celbratory aspect of the painting.
