About this artwork
Woodstock is a vibrant and cosmopolitan area of Capetown, South Africa, which has distinctive colonial style, single story houses with coloured tin roofs. My daughter lived there for three years and I fell in love with the place during my visits. In this piece. In addition to acrylic paint I have incorporated some Shwe Shwe West African fabric, as well as layers of linen, calico, scrim and hessian, mounted on a stretched canvas. I hope this painting… goes some way to transmit the richness and variety of the area. The piece comes UV varnished and ready to hang in a white wood handmade floater frame
« I am constantly searching for answers and questions relating to the human condition. Art reveals our greatness and our vulnerability. »
