About this artwork
Confini Blu is part of a deeply introspective series that explores the boundaries, confini, between the visible and the invisible, the body and the soul, the outer world and our inner tides.
The fabric, pulled and knotted into tension, becomes a metaphor for the emotional landscapes we carry inside, memories, longings, the ache of separation, the desire to belong. The electric blue is not just color; it’s depth, silence, infinity. It’s the sea within,… il mare dentro.
Created in my atelier in Porto Cervo on commission, this piece holds the echo of a place where nature speaks loud, and the soul listens. Every fold, every stretch of fabric is a breath held or released. It invites the viewer to cross their own personal confini, to feel the beauty of vulnerability and the strength of stillness.
Fabio Pietrantonio is a self-taught Italian artist who works across painting, sculpture, and conceptual installations, using raw materials like rope, resin, cement, fabric, and wood to articulate his spiritual and ancestral roots. His ritualistic, alchemical techniques, rooted in Arte Povera yet expanded by shamanic intention, strip away the superfluous to reveal essential, sensory dialogues between matter and meaning. Through meditative process and tactile immersion, his work radiates emotional power, creating portals for healing, reconnection, and transformation, inviting viewers to rediscover a deep sense of belonging and spiritual presence.
