About this artwork
When the air turns crisp but the light still burns gold, and everything feels alive. The palette is joyful, full of life, but there's softness too. That earthy, promise of slow and cosy nights.
This piece is my way of holding that energy: the riot of colour in red, orange, and sienna at the end of the season, the hum of a bright Autumn day in which it feels like anything is possible, and that quiet peace underneath it all.
British artist Faith Hesselmann lives and works in Hamburg, painting Expressive Landscapes and Abstracts. Her works are a tribute to the healing power of nature; to its ability to nourish, revitalise, and connect us with our authentic selves. With bold colours, expressive brushstrokes, and dynamic forms, richly textured surfaces lend her work a palpable presence. She invites viewers to immerse themselves in the landscapes she creates and develop their own relationship with the depicted scenery.
Hesselmann's paintings are less geographical scenes than emotional maps: an attempt to chart the shifting terrain of memory and identity. Each composition reflects a geography of the Self, shaped by places from past and present, and those that exist only in feeling.
