This work is a window to another world, which invites us to question the notion of elsewhere.
The artist leaves the choice of reading: is the character immersed in a daydream, looking away at his "elsewhere"?
Is he already part of it and looking at the horizon with melancholy?
Is he expecting someone to come? A forthcoming departure?
ABOUT THE SEA SERIES:
In psychoanalysis, water and emotions have a close connection. This convergence is found… instinctively when a scene comes to mind: there is something cathartic about representing the emotions that run through us.
A chromatic symbolism as well as pictorial elements that will set the tone for the perceived emotion, first come to me intuitively.
The environment is carefully selected. Generally inspired by archives of travel images and/or architectural elements that marked me, the weaving of the decorations gives body to the image.

Florence Giuca is a painter and draftsman based in France whose works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally.
