Political work that expresses the end of a neighborhood in Athens, Exarcheia, in which the artist lived in 2014.
In the summer of 2019, a new conservative and repressive government is elected in Greece. The Prime Minister then wants to “restore order” in the libertarian district, of citizen initiative, art and reception. This lawless zone is experiencing police interventions and squat evacuations, promises of change in this neighborhood she loved… so much. This change is represented by a bicentenary olive tree photographed when she lived there, here on fire.
The artist represents herself as a spectator, far from the beloved land.
