About this artwork
My work explores duality and contrast through simple geometric shapes in acrylic, capturing a visual tension that invites reflection. The use of black and white is not merely an aesthetic choice; it symbolizes the opposites that coexist and how they complement each other. This energetic yet balanced piece will bring a vibrant serenity to any space, encouraging viewers to find harmony in the contrasts of their own lives. Revisiting the legendary board… game "Tangram," I saw that among the figures proposed in its booklet, there was none that referenced family. I attempted to create one with its seven pieces (and one extra) and then transfer it to the canvas with paint. Its clean design and straight lines contribute to a modern and avant-garde decor.
Work painted in black and white acrylic.
Francesc Bergadà Gassol, influenced by Danish artist Carsten Beck, fuses his experience in interior decoration with painting on canvas and fabric. His works are characterized by an abstract, minimalist and geometric style, using mixed techniques where acrylic paint predominates and highlighting his harmonious use of grey, black, white and blue colours. Inspired by the classic game 'Tangram', his pieces convey emotions with aesthetic balance and elegance in each stroke, challenging the viewer to find beauty in simplicity.
