About this artwork
The Dance was born from a close observation of bougainvillea, where the bracts—the large, colorful forms that envelop the actual flowers—take center stage. Large and sinuous, in shades of antique pink and mauve, they unfold across the canvas with an almost sculptural presence, enlivened by a luminous yellow background that enhances the chromatic vibration of the entire surface. The olive-green stems trace curved lines through the composition, defining…
the rhythm of movement.
The contrast between the warm yellow and the fresh pink creates a continuous visual dialogue, while the veins guide the eye in a rhythmic movement—a dance, indeed—that never quite stops. The brush follows the curves of the living material with a soft yet decisive stroke, faithfully and sensitively capturing the leaf's organic texture.
A work that brings the vitality of Mediterranean nature into the home, filtered through a personal and contemporary pictorial vision.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Francesca Licchelli is a painter with a solid classical education, enriched by years of apprenticeship in drawing, oil painting, fresco, mosaic, and stained glass. Her works oscillate between figuration and abstraction: this balance emerges through a structural and expressive use of color, close-up compositions, and essential forms achieved through oil, watercolor, and pastel. Her canvases exude an intense serenity: she strives to convey silence, intensity, and a profound connection with the spiritual dimension of nature.
