About this artwork
the inspiration comes from a deep reflection on the symbolic value of time and transformation. The hourglass, a recurring emblem in my artistic research, becomes not only a measure of time, but a metaphor for change and the cyclical nature of life. An orange gradually transforms into juice, a natural process that becomes symbolic: it represents the passage from nature to culture, from raw material to sensory pleasure. The work thus invites us to… rediscover the hidden meaning in simple gestures, transforming them into socialization rituals, moments in which time is suspended to make room for sharing. The orange, fruit of the earth, passes through the filter of time and care, becoming nectar, pleasure, culture, an essence, precisely. Paradoxical hyperrealism.
Francesca Trusso, an artist who uses oil impasto on canvas and digital techniques, explores her inner self through art. She skillfully employs saturated colors and hyper-realistic forms, sometimes using metallic leaves for light and texture effects. Her vibrant and symbolic style expresses intense emotions, evoking the transcendence of time and the exploration of the human soul, especially the feminine aspect. Hourglasses symbolize the theme of transformation, highlighting how time shapes and changes everything, including feelings. Time passes, flows and transforms, leaving an indelible mark on our experiences. These elements are represented with a hyper-realistic style, but placed in paradoxical contexts that defy logic and stimulate reflection. It is precisely in this marriage of detailed realism and surreal situations that the term she coined was born: *Paradoxical Hyperrealism*.
