In this work, I use pop art to explore the themes of identity and representation. The figure of the geisha, a symbol of grace and aesthetic discipline, becomes a reflection of the artist himself as he confronts the fear of sharing. Through chromatic contrast and mirrored repetition, the painting expresses the tension between interiority and public image, between the desire to show oneself and the fear of being seen.
This is the foundation for a… second digital phase, in which the image is reinterpreted with an almost graphic or silkscreen approach. Using digital tools—particularly Procreate—color, brightness, contrast, and texture are reshaped, creating NFTS versions with a pop and synthetic feel.
Francesco Pellerano, painter, draftsman, printmaker, and digital artist, trained at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts and enriched his sensibility with his experience in restoration. His research oscillates between lyrical abstraction and evocative figuration, with visionary landscapes constructed through layered materials, contrasts, and acrylic washes that convey a sense of poetic instability. His works are imbued with nostalgia and desire, inviting the viewer to explore the subtle boundary between reality and mirage and immerse themselves in suspended emotions and introspection.
