About this artwork
Machines and architecture emerge from a liquid silence.
"Urban Mirage" demonstrates the ambiguity of the built world: the airplane, a symbol of progress, is refracted in a body of water that dissolves its solidity. The city does not appear: it falters, an illusion of control in a world that slips away.
“Urban Mirage” suspends time and invites us to see the city as a reflection: uncertain, fragile, a mirror of a modernity dissolving in the illusion… of its own order.
Francesco Pellerano, painter, draftsman, printmaker, and digital artist, trained at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts and enriched his sensibility with his experience in restoration. His research oscillates between lyrical abstraction and evocative figuration, with visionary landscapes constructed through layered materials, contrasts, and acrylic washes that convey a sense of poetic instability. His works are imbued with nostalgia and desire, inviting the viewer to explore the subtle boundary between reality and mirage and immerse themselves in suspended emotions and introspection.
