About this artwork
I poured my passion into this piece, using bold red and deep blue to symbolize opposing forces and harmony. The stark black line creates tension and balance, evoking an intense emotional dialogue. This artwork radiates dynamic energy, transforming any space with its vibrant, provocative spirit. It’s a visual anthem of contrast and unity, designed to spark reflection and bold conversations. This is a visual representation of the political AND social… atmosphere in the United States of America . Together we are strong , Divided we are weak. Unforunately weak is what we have become . I am the stripe of the opposing side . We need to remember to not only be strong in your beliefs but to also accept others whos beliefs are different than our own . Not Hate them because of the difference. We are all human . We should love each other as we do our own family , I would hope that this visual depiction of our current atmosphere in the U.S. sparks conversations. Be the stripe.
My name is Frank Pratorius. I’m 48 years old, born in 1978, and I live and work in Kingston, Minnesota. I started painting in 2024. I’m completely self‑taught, and I learned by experimenting, making mistakes, and following whatever felt right. I have also learned from other artists throughout my life. Once I started painting, something clicked for me, and I have painted everyday since.
My work comes from a mix of instinct, emotion, and the natural beauty around me. I also love myths, and fantasty. I don’t usually plan what I'm going to paint. I begin with a color or a feeling, and I let the painting grow from there. Sometimes the image becomes serious and more complex and sometimes simple and quick. I put a lot of emotion and movement into my work . I want my painting to envoke deep nostalgia , self contemplation ,and show the power and range of the emotions I poured into each piece.
