In creating this piece, I used vibrant strokes of acrylic to capture a sense of motion and energy. The dynamic sways of color across the canvas reveal the spontaneity and passion I felt, aiming to stir a lively, invigorating atmosphere. Each stroke is an expression of freedom, intended to infuse any space with vitality and inspire continuous movement and positive change. This painting is 16 in high and 20 in wide with the frame. Without the frame… it is 13 in height and 17 in width.
My name is Frank Pratorius. I’m 48 years old, born in 1978, and I live and work in Kingston, Minnesota. I started painting in 2024. I’m completely self‑taught, and I learned by experimenting, making mistakes, and following whatever felt right. I have also learned from other artists throughout my life. Once I started painting, something clicked for me, and I have painted everyday since.
My work comes from a mix of instinct, emotion, and the natural beauty around me. I also love myths, and fantasty. I don’t usually plan what I'm going to paint. I begin with a color or a feeling, and I let the painting grow from there. Sometimes the image becomes serious and more complex and sometimes simple and quick. I put a lot of emotion and movement into my work . I want my painting to envoke deep nostalgia , self contemplation ,and show the power and range of the emotions I poured into each piece.
