About this artwork
A tribute to Don Quixote, this piece incorporates Neoplasticity and Cubism to represent the writings of Cervantes, more specifically the story of “El Hombre de La Mancha”.
In the center of the canvas there is an image of the Don. On the left hand side of the canvas is a painting of his horse he named “Rosinante”.
Next to the horses eye there is a windmill designating his target. In the eyes of Don Quixote the windmills were the monsters that he… was targeting with his horse and lance.
As you continue to read the canvas on the lower left side there is an image of a book with a quill pen and a date of 1604. This represents the date the book was penned by Cervantes(1604). Throughout the canvas you will find images of “Dulcinea”his lady love and his sidekick “Sancho Panza” is also depicted on the lower right hand side of the painting.

Franz Fox
United States
« My work is inspired by imagination, expression and feeling, and is not a product of recreated reality. »
Franz Fox is a passionate Cuban painter based in the US who has exhibited his work nationally. He harnesses inspiration from the colors that were at his fingertips during his youth on the island, as well as experiences from his many travels after moving from Cuba to the States. Fox composes vibrant paintings that center on a figurative image which he then surrounds with abstract elements. He considers his style as a sort of psychic automatism, wherein priority is given to the process, emphasizing impulse over premeditated composition.
