About this artwork
In this mixed-media acrylic painting, I process my impressions from the national park next to which we live. The starting point is the view into the dense undergrowth of the forest landscapes – at ground-level plants, needles, seed heads, and flowering structures that overlap in layers and form a multifaceted network.
I work with acrylic paints and oil pastels to create a rich, tactile surface. Circular elements, dots, and gestural lines evoke… blossoms, pollen, cones, and natural growth rhythms. Different textures—from glazes to impasto—reflect the diversity of plant structures and the interplay of soft and rough surfaces typical of this landscape.
The color palette of greens, blues, beiges, and warm pinks reflects light, vegetation, and earthiness. The work moves between abstract floral painting and a contemporary interpretation of nature.
« For me, a painting is a sensual interplay of structures, colors, and shapes, taking into account the materiality of canvas and painting medium. »
