About this artwork
When starting his career as a graphic artist Frits van Roon tried his hand at making a sculpture in socalled 'Bleu Belge', a locally used building stone. His subject was these two cats - indeed two brothers - who during most of the day lay entwined and always in this characteristic way on a chair in his studio . It was the first stone sculpture of many to follow.

Frits van Roon is an experienced sculptor based in the Netherlands whose works have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally. He cites "Plato's Cave" as being the source from which his art comes to life. In addition, Van Roon is also inspired by nature. He primarily creates using classical techniques with stone, wood, or bronze.
