Set against a deep black background, this work unfolds in layered dimensions—each handmade recycled paper sheet holding a distinct presence. One layer carries delicate ink lines ,another is sealed with resin, capturing a moment as if suspended in time.
These layers, though different in texture and voice, belong to the same body. They speak in contrast—softness and rigidity, gesture and containment—yet they do not compete. Instead, they listen, echo,… and hold space for each other.
It is the cosmos in which these elements float. A vast silence that allows for many truths to coexist. The ink marks a path. In Between Worlds, diversity becomes harmony. The materials—each altered by hand, by time—come together not to blur their identities, but to reveal a deeper one: that unity is not sameness, but belonging in difference. Like stars in the same sky.
Günes Evrim, with a Masters in Industrial Design, expertly blends sustainable material exploration and paper-based narratives. Organic and textural, she mixes plant fibers and natural detritus with traditional paper crafting, enhancing the process with personal techniques like coffee marbling. Subtle, meditative artworks are born of her focus on memory, impermanence, and the transitory beauty in what’s discarded, reflecting themes of natural decay and renewal. Her works breathe with quiet emotion, inviting viewers into a dialogue with the material, their memory, and still, unspoken resonances.
