About this artwork
With Elevation Dissolved, GABAN continues his exploration of a peaceful, yet never frozen, interior space. The rigorously horizontal composition aims neither at representation nor at ornamentation: it creates a suspended space, a pictorial threshold between silence and vibration.
GABAN extends the momentum of the CONVERGENCE series, but in a more contemplative and suspended register. Here, the black canvas no longer plays the role of an abyss or… a threatening shadow, but that of a night sky welcoming the layers of a dying day. The horizontal bands overlap in a hushed cadence, like an echo of the cloud layers that structure Tuscan landscapes at dusk.

He carries within him the memory of gestures, the rigor of vision, and the freedom of pigments, and it is outside the academies that he forges his language: he lets himself be guided by intuition, matter, and gesture. Acrylic imposes itself on him as his preferred medium, for its ability to combine fluidity, brilliance, and thickness.
In 2013, a personal rupture paved the way for creation.
Then came the EMERGENCE period (2013–2017) made up of dense, mineral and telluric canvases.
The CONVERGENCE period begins in 2025.
Each work becomes a field of tension between chaos and order, light and shadow, excess and erasure.
To reveal this plurality of voices, the Convergence period is structured around six conceptual series.
