About this artwork
This powerful canvas asserts a contrasting verticality, traversed by subterranean gestures. At the heart of the work, a dark, almost vegetal mass takes root in a chaotic structure of lines, drips, and projections.
The mineral tones—clay, soot, stone, bronze—evok the earth, the roots, the agitated soil beneath the visible surface. The whole gives off a muted tension, as if the material were holding back a cry, or a memory.
Roots of Tumult is fully… in line with the Convergence series, exploring the motif of unstable anchoring, of the fractured and reconstituted living.

Each work becomes a field of tension between chaos and order, light and shadow, excess and erasure.
To reveal this plurality of voices, the Convergence period is structured around six conceptual series.
