About this artwork
The basis for the inspiration of the picture "painted rust" was an old industrial wall in the Werksviertel in Munich, which I often photographed for my photo studies. The selection of the materials used simulate the weathering and patina of the demolition walls there, which I see as contemporary witnesses and transformation for my painting serve.
Special is the illusion of heaviness of paper, which has been artistically processed to look like ancient… tiles covered with patina.
