With ROOTS, LAPROKAY explores the invisible roots of human identity. The work does not focus on origin as a geographical location, but rather on the people, relationships, and experiences that shape our personality.
Three figures move together through an abstract space – two adults and a child, all with their backs to the viewer. Their posture appears calm and resolute, yet also thoughtful. Their… clasped hands behind their backs symbolize trust, protection, and connection. Although they are walking the same path, each figure maintains their own bearing and individuality – an emblem of the fact that every person walks their own path in life within shared roots.
Typical of Laprokay's work, figuration and geometric abstraction merge into a distinctive visual language. Cubist-inspired reduced forms, fine lines, and structured surfaces lend the work a unique character.
