The painting captures a touching moment in the life of the wild: a small leopard nestles comfortably on a sturdy tree branch. Its spotted fur blends with the play of light and shadow breaking through the foliage, creating a feeling of warmth and security. The baby’s curious eyes carefully study the world around him, full of new sounds and smells. Strong paws confidently squeeze the bark, demonstrating the natural grace and dexterity inherent even… to young predators. The scene exudes calm and tenderness.
I, Galyna Antonenko, am an architect by training.
I studied painting for six years in the private studio of the renowned Ukrainian artist V. Sosna. I use primarily bright acrylic paints in my works.
My art is an attempt to stop time.
When I paint women's portraits, it's as if I whisper to them: "Stop, moment—you are so beautiful!"
I am inspired by those brief, almost imperceptible moments when a person becomes truly visible—without posing, without protection, simply themselves.
The women in my paintings are not models, but reflections of inner strength, vulnerability, and beauty in simplicity.
I seek in every face that facet of light where life is hidden.
Children's portraits occupy a special place in my work. Adults strive to appear, while children strive simply to feel. And I strive to capture this pure feeling: delight, surprise, sadness, joy—everything that makes us alive. My paintings are more than just images. It is a dialogue with the moment.
