About this artwork
Trying to make sense in a non verbal type of way.
To come up with meaning in this, I have to look for it way beneath the colours and somewhat accidental shapes. To organize elements observed in the setting of a rectangle is meaningful. To control angles, to make everything relate to all of the rest of the elements of composition, gives me a reason to work with it. To let texture unite this with some of the rest of my pictures in this series, brings… balance into play.
To play while working is neither alienating nor banal.

George-A. Makridis, a painter and digital artist, was initially drawn to the canvas by his mechanic father. He adeptly manipulates oil, water-based mediums, and digital interfaces, crafting works that defy conventional forms while experimenting with collage and mixed media.
