About this artwork
In my work I use an intense mix of acrylic, varnish and sand to create a deep, emotional expression that captures both the wild and the tameable in life. The dark shades and bold reds symbolize the inner and outer struggles we experience, while the horse motif represents strength and freedom. This painting will bring a powerful energy to any home, inspiring passion and reflection on one's own inner wildness and civility.

Gerald Hofmann, adept in a variety of media such as painting, digital photography, installation and object art, emphasizes materiality in his works. In the works shown here from the "Nigredo" phase, he creates powerful, tactile images through the stylistic use of plaster, glazes, sand and charcoal. In other works of art that address the mind-matter problem, black and gold contrast, with gold being a symbol of the spiritual. The emotional and content-related aspects of his works take the viewer on a journey home by capturing the seed of gold and what it symbolizes as an inkling.
