Inspired by the emotional ambiguity of Stromae's iconic song and music video, the project unfolds through the experience of a young Black model navigating the relentless machinery of the fashion industry.… Moving from one set to another, from one image to the next, she embodies an endless succession of roles while remaining trapped within a single expectation: to always be perfect.
She is present, yet absent.
Observed, directed, styled, and consumed by the gaze of others, she exists in a state of perpetual performance. Her professionalism becomes her armour. Her composure becomes a language. Her silence becomes part of the aesthetic.
