Gianfranco Covino, a self-taught artist, primarily sculpts with fired clay and papier-mâché, grounding his work in a rich theatrical and educational background. He merges sculpture and painting, reinterpreting the mask from its ethno-theatrical roots to place it within contemporary art, drawing inspiration from both nature and the great masters. Through his masks, he unveils the invisible, questions the unconscious, and conveys a profound invitation to dream, exploring what lies hidden behind each face.
