About this artwork
In the tropics, where the artist lives, bunches of growing bananas are a common site. This tiny sub-species with the local name of Finger Rolls are sweetly delicious & naturally attract the eponymously-named Bananaquits as they ripen. The vestiges of the banana flower appear towards the bottom of the painting. The artist depicts this gorgeous fruit on the banana palm using a semi-abstract approach in acrylic on canvas. It also pairs very well with…
the Exotic Flora & Fauna painting the same size inspired by Venezuelan bromeliads.
