About this artwork
Mixed media. Acrylic, modeling paste and paint chips. Artwork rendered with hopes of achieving the texture of moss. Painting was executed on a board prepared with a thick application of modeling paste. As the artist began applying paint chips with acrylic medium, she decided to vary the textures leaving some of the areas exposed to the layers of modeling paste. This was a very time consuming process, and at times it felt as if she weaving a rug…
adding one fiber at a time. This painting was created while the world was in the midst of the Corona Virus and the distraction or solace was welcome.
