About this artwork
This work is part of a series on paper, using acrylic and basic colors, my own (blue, red, black, yellow). Empty, full, color, no color, material, immaterial. Genesis is a complex matter; too many words (or too few) would always be banal, reductive, or presumptuous. As with all my works, I prefer that the observers describe what they see and feel, for better or worse, as long as they "feel."

Giovanni de Michele, an Italian artist born in 1973, creates abstract-figurative works using mixed techniques on various supports such as paper, canvas and wood. His unmistakable technique is based on the subtraction of color, leaving only evanescent traces of what was, evocative of cities, faces, landscapes. Through his works, de Michele wants to arouse emotions, positive or negative, reflecting on the transience and fleeting trace of humanity.
